What sets this school apart

On-Hand Training — real cases, in the real software.

Most tax courses stop at explaining. Ours does not. You are given genuine client files — the slips, the receipts, the missing paperwork, the contradictions — and you prepare the return in the same professional tax software a firm would put in front of you on your first day.

Nobody tells you which lesson applies. Working that out is the exercise, because working that out is the job.

See how On-Hand Training works
  • Real client files
Unsorted documents, exactly as a client hands them over.
  • Professional software
The same tax packages used in practice, not a mock-up.
  • No guide rails
Nothing is flagged in advance. You decide what applies.
  • Marked by a human
An instructor reviews your return and tells you what you missed.
  • AI client interview
A live intake with a client who only answers what you ask.

How the training runs

Five stages, in order, every course.

You do not finish here by watching the material. You finish by preparing returns, answering for them, and handling a client who does not hand you the facts.

  1. 01

    Self-Study

Bite-sized video tutorials you work through at your own pace, on your own schedule. Every topic stands alone, so you can go straight to the one you need and come back to it later as a refresher.

  2. 02

    Assess your knowledge

Graded quizzes after each module tell you what actually landed. You do not move on because you watched a video; you move on because you can answer for it.

  3. 03

    In-person tutor / Zoom session

Scheduled sessions with a practising accountant, in person or over Zoom. This is where the things a video cannot answer get answered, against your own questions and your own files.

  4. 04

    Practical cases

Real client scenarios prepared end to end in real tax software. Slips, receipts, a messy set of facts and a return that has to balance — the work as it arrives on a desk, not as it appears in a textbook.

  5. 05

Real customer simulation using agentic AI

A live interview with an AI client who only tells you what you think to ask, and who forgets, hedges and contradicts themselves the way real clients do. You conduct the intake, spot what is missing, and file on what you gathered.

Why this school

What you get that a video library will not give you.

Taught by people who still file

Every instructor is a practising accountant. The examples are the returns that came across their desk, not a textbook simplification of them.

Two jurisdictions, one school

Canadian T1 and T2 returns and US federal returns, taught to the same standard. Take one or take both — most of our students end up wanting both.

Assessed, not just attended

Graded quizzes, practical cases in real software and a proctored final. A certificate from here means somebody checked that you can do the work.

Support that is a person

Live tutor sessions in person or over Zoom, plus a direct line to your instructor between them. You are never stuck on a video alone.
